We’re less than three weeks away from Election Day and your vote has never mattered more. First, let’s clarify 2 things you may have heard: Can the newly elected Santa Clara County Assessor exempt seniors from paying property taxes? No. This would first require a change in state law. Which candidate has the qualifications required to be a California Assessor? Neysa is the only candidate in this race with the legally required property tax certification to serve as a California Assessor. This certification covers all the work done in the office, including commercial properties and business personal property. No other license or credential qualifies. In addition to having the required qualifications, Neysa is the only candidate who has the professional experience working in the office. She currently serves as the Assistant Assessor, has worked as a Special Assistant to the Assessor and as an attorney for the office. Neysa is the only candidate in this race who knows the work of this office from every angle, and she’s already doing the work! The Assessor’s job requires specialized technical knowledge, understanding of the laws that govern the office and management and leadership acumen to lead a County Department of 251 employees. Neysa has proven she will bring all three. If experience, qualifications, and readiness matter, the only right choice is Neysa. Neysa Fligor is the only candidate our communities can trust to serve as our next County Assessor. To help Neysa reach more voters with her message, please donate today! |

Please join me in supporting Neysa Fligor to be the next Santa Clara County Assessor. The momentum for Neysa’s candidacy for Assessor keeps getting stronger, and that’s because people quickly realize that she is by far the best candidate for this job. Her recent Mercury News endorsement sums it up well: “Neysa Fligor is, far and away, the most qualified... to lead the office responsible for setting tax values for more than 500,000 properties assessed at more than $750 Billion.” Neysa is running to be the next Assessor to make sure the Assessor’s office continues to work for residents and taxpayers. Neysa is the Assistant Assessor and previously served as Special Assistant to the Assessor and an attorney for the office. She is also the only candidate with the legally required property tax certification to be a California Assessor. With the budget crisis facing the County and the impact on our different communities, it is even more important that we have an Assessor who is ready to lead the office on Day One. Neysa has demonstrated she can deliver results and lead effectively as Assistant Assessor, a regional leader, attorney, Mayor, and Councilmember, including successfully acquiring a new modern technology solution to replace the decades-old system. “Neysa has both the skills and personal qualities to be the next Assessor. As an attorney, a regional leader, an executive in the Assessor’s office, a tech industry veteran, and the first Black Los Altos City Councilmember, she brings relevant knowledge to the position. During this time of funding cuts from the federal and state governments and budget uncertainty, we need experienced leadership leading the Assessor’s office. That leader is Neysa.” - Ellen Kamei, Mayor of Mountain View Democratic Clubs are endorsing Neysa to be the next County Assessor:
The Assessor community across the state has also overwhelmingly endorsed Neysa because they know what it takes to lead a California Assessor’s Office. This includes Larry Stone, Retired Santa Clara County Assessor (30 years of service), Al Carlson, Former Santa Clara County Assessor (29 years of service), Greg Monteverde, Interim Santa Clara County Assessor, and David Ginsborg, former Santa Clara County Deputy Assessor.
